2020 Presidential Debates

This analysis, much like the one we ran of the first Presidential Debate 2020. We’re looking at the individual text of the remarks made by Susan Page, Mike Pence and Kamala Harris at the debate held on October 7th 2020. Much like the last debate, these analyses are rich in findings. Because the debate was much more civil, the results are much less counterintuitive. One can guess pretty easily which word cloud belongs to whom just with the naked eye.

We show here our Sentiment Word Cloud for each of the three speakers from the vice presidential debate.  The color indicate overall term sentiment across the speakers translated text.  Thank you again to Rev.com for getting the translations done quickly!

Susan Page

Susan Page struggled a bit to keep the candidates in line, but our analysis gives her a perfect score on distributing airtime. Her sentiment was also fair towards the candidates, but not towards President Trump.

Page Analysis

Mike Pence

Mike Pence sounded calming tones and spoke very positively about the Trump presidency. He saved some strong words for China, Obamacare, ISIS and NAFTA. Our analyzers demonstrate the same in a succinct visual!

Pence Analysis

Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris was more on the offensive, while speaking lovingly of Joe Biden. Her criticisms of China, Russia and Trump were clear. Her comments on ACA focused on her concern of its potential demise.
