2020 Presidential Debates

This initial analysis is of the individual text from Kristen Welker, Donald Trump and Joe Biden from the debate held on October 22nd 2020. The analysis of each candidate shows some interesting results. Most of them are more intuitive than the first, much less orderly debate.

We show here our Sentiment Word Cloud for each of the three speakers from the first presidential debate.  The color indicate overall term sentiment across the speakers translated text.  Thank you yet again to Rev.com for getting the translations done quickly!

Kristen Welker

Either Kristen Welker is truly a rock star, or it’s the power of the mute button.  The word distribution between the candidates was pretty even. And Ms. Welker got in more words than either candidate!

Welker Analysis

Donald Trump

A much toned down President Trump made his case. A lot of negative sentiment in this word cloud. Many states and countries got in the red this time. Even Hillary Clinton fared better. Take a look!

Trump Analysis

Joe Biden

Mr. Biden we less negative than his opponent. It seems to reflect his comfortable lead. He spoke to Americans and didn’t bash China. Of course Russia and Iran got beaten up, along with some collateral damage!
