Amazon’s “AI Ready” initiative is set to make a significant impact on the global workforce by providing free AI skills training to two million individuals by 2025. This ambitious program aims to bridge the gap between the demand for AI talent and the current supply.

As part of this initiative, Amazon is offering eight new and free AI and generative AI courses. These courses will equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the ever-evolving field of AI. The company understands the importance of staying ahead in this technology-driven era and wants to empower individuals with the tools they need to succeed.

To further enhance the learning experience, Amazon has partnered with Code.org, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to computer science education. This collaboration will enable students to learn about generative AI, a branch of AI that focuses on creating new and innovative content. By introducing generative AI to students, Amazon hopes to inspire and nurture the next generation of AI innovators.

A recent study conducted by AWS and Access Partnership sheds light on the growing demand for AI-skilled talent. The study revealed that a staggering 73% of employers prioritize hiring individuals with AI skills. However, despite this demand, three out of four employers are struggling to find suitable candidates to meet their AI talent needs. This shortage of AI-skilled professionals presents a significant opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in AI.

In addition to the increased demand, employers also value AI skills by offering higher salaries. Workers with AI skills can expect to earn up to 47% more than their counterparts without these skills. This substantial salary increase highlights the value that AI skills bring to the table and further emphasizes the importance of acquiring these skills in today’s job market.

Recognizing the need to invest in the future of AI, AWS is committing $12 million in generative AI scholarships. These scholarships will provide financial support to individuals from underserved communities, enabling them to pursue AI education and unlock a world of opportunities. By investing in scholarships, AWS aims to create a more diverse and inclusive AI community, ensuring that talent is not limited by financial constraints.

To introduce students to the fascinating world of generative AI, AWS is offering an Hour of Code Dance Party: AI Edition. This interactive event is designed to spark curiosity and engage students in a fun and educational manner. By gamifying the learning process, AWS hopes to inspire students to explore the vast potential of generative AI.

The AWS Generative AI Scholarship program is another crucial component of the “AI Ready” initiative. This program aims to provide scholarships to over 50,000 high school and university students from underserved communities. By offering financial assistance and educational resources, AWS is removing barriers and creating equal opportunities for aspiring AI professionals.

Amazon’s “AI Ready” initiative is a game-changer in the world of AI education. By providing free AI skills training to two million individuals, offering generative AI courses, and investing in scholarships, Amazon is empowering individuals to thrive in the AI-driven future. This initiative not only addresses the demand for AI talent but also emphasizes the importance of inclusivity and diversity in the field. With the support of AWS and Code.org, the “AI Ready” initiative is set to revolutionize the way we approach AI education and shape the future of AI.
