FinanceMalta, the public-private initiative that promotes Malta as an International Financial Centre, is preparing for its 16th Annual Conference. Scheduled for September 13, the conference carries the theme ‘Leading change through innovation’. The event is set to feature a host of local and international speakers, who will share their insights on various financial topics, with emphasis on technology and innovation.
Among the headlining speakers are Andrea Tinagli from the European Investment Bank (EIB), Jochen Biedermann from World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC), and Clara Durodié, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and fintech expert. The speakers will tackle a wide range of topics that are of vital importance to the financial services industry.
Andrea Tinagli is expected to discuss the role of financial services in the blue economy, an emerging concept which encourages better stewardship of our ocean or ‘blue’ resources. Tinagli will highlight Malta’s potential in the blue economy, addressing its prospective growth and development.
On the other hand, Jochen Biedermann will shed light on the future of financial centres, with a specific focus on Malta. His insights will be valuable considering the country’s strategic location and its ambition to be a leading financial hub.
Adding to the line-up, AI and fintech expert Clara Durodié will explore how a testing environment could aid the development of AI applications in financial services. Her session promises to provide a detailed perspective on the role of AI in transforming the financial industry.
The 16th Annual Conference is not the first time FinanceMalta has gathered industry leaders to discuss the future of financial services. The 12th annual conference, held at the Hilton Malta Conference Centre, featured presentations on financial services developments, with a tech and innovation emphasis. Speakers at the conference included Don Tapscott from the Blockchain Research Institute and Dr. Robert Barnes from Turquoise. The event also discussed the impact of Brexit on financial services.
In addition to insightful presentations and discussions, the upcoming conference will offer workshops, networking opportunities, and a gala dinner. It promises to be an exciting platform for learning, sharing and networking for anyone involved in the financial services industry. With such a dynamic and diverse agenda, the 16th Annual Conference by FinanceMalta is set to be an event not to be missed by financial professionals.
