FB CAMBRIDGE PESTEL

What’s it Mean

As shown by the PESTEL Analysis, clear legal issues continue to surface around the Facebook – Cambridge Analytica mess.  Facebook continues to face issues across its business and this is another unwelcome addition.   We also see a fairly high Risk Score and predictive component.  Also, as would be expected the Sentiment is noticeable negative.

How we Calculate

We provide an interface to allow teams to collect News from different sources available on the internet including News, Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin.  These sources are grouped in our program and our interface allows subject areas of interest to be saved providing analysis over time.

We collect multiple types of data which we analysis to create the charts and measurements above.  This include both Text Natural Language Processing and Image processing, depending on the analysis shown.

Our initial area of focus is GeoPolitical Risk.  We make extensive use of the PESTEL model to provide an understanding of external factors impacting organization.  The PESTEL model provides a representation of opportunities and threats that exist from Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal impacting an organization.

To calculate our charts we run NLP against an article or set of articles and determine the weighted ratio of “words” showing a propensity to the indicators and scale them in relationship to each other.

We also use similar techniques to measure the RCS “Risk Spread” of an article as well as temporal predictive attributes of the content.
